The #9m 410 Sprint car with Donovan Peterson at the wheel moved up to 6th in the Heat Race, passing the 6th quik car #44 only to start 21st in the A Main. We had an issue with steering and came to pits after a red flag at 2 laps and went back out starting last with 25 cars in the A MAIN. Donovan was able to move up to 19th at the finish. Many people came down to the pits to talk to the Driver and Team, saying they were excited to see the racing of the 9m. Donovan was signing and handing out Magnetic Photos of him and the car.

The same night at Black Hills Speedway the #5 Aaron Wendt 360 Sprint Car was racing a rain delayed race. He was fast moving from the back of heat to 2nd and the rear of the A Main to 3rd when a right front shock mount broke from the very bad and bumpy Track surface sending him into the wall. Much damage was incurred but Aaron is ok.

Started the night with a bad pill draw and got worse. we were passing some cars in B Main but it got too hot and pulled in. Donovan was able to watch temp and keep motor together with hopefully little damage,

Too bad we blew a head gasket on motor tonight.

He pulled in soon enough to fix at shop it looks like.
We are sitting in the pits watching the race now!

7-3-2013 World Of outlaws 410 Sprint Car Race at Huset’s Speedway

Qualified with a 11.23 time and still started in the back of Heat Race. Race was delayed about an hour and a half Cuz way TOO WET! Please back off the water Truck in the future guys!!

Started last in heat race and got up to 6th but just one more would have made the A main. Timed a bit slow so moved to back 4 of B main and move up to 9th. It’s always good to go forward and not back, so a good night for us and now we are tuned in for Sunday too. Good job to Donovan and the whole Crew! Thanks!

#5 Aaron Wendt 360 ASCS Sprint Car gets 6th out of 18 starting at back.

Started last in the main finished 6th and would have done better except to a large rock hitting the rock shield and then hitting Aarons helmet causing him to have to regain his marbles…..
Great Job Aaron we are proud of you! Oh and…Mark, this engine is a Torque Monster!
Thanks to Ballinger Engines!

Huset’s Speedway Sunday 6/2/2013 Wild rides for both cars!

We had an eventful crazy night. Both the #5 360 Sprint Car of Aaron Wendt and the #9m 360 Car of Donovan Peterson were racing at the Bullring Sunday. The #9m was in the 410 class and the #5 was in the 360 class. Aaron was driving his all new 360 car in the heat race for first time this year at Huset’s and only second time this year when it wasn’t enough to make the transfer spot, so He had to run the B Main. He was Second in the ‘B’ and was moving well. The “A’ Main Feature was a fight. He was moving through trafic well when the #81 slide into the #5 on front stretch and threw the car for a tumble. Here is a look at the wild ride!  http://www.keloland.com/newsdetail.cfm/husets-speedway-highlights-june-2nd/?id=148939 . Aaron was really shaken but NOT strured, and will be fine! He plans to be back soon and show what he has learned next time.

The #9m of Donovan was Fast and Qualified with a 11.76 time trial in the 410 class driving a 360. The heat race was very heavy and horsepower would rule that race. The ‘A’ Main was different, In the first 3 laps Donovan pasted 6 cars and moved from 15th to 9th before a yellow caution flag. Then moved back some on restart and spun a few laps later looking for the best groove. Then restarted last again and moved back to 9th on a rail on the outside moving fast. We really thought he could get 2-3 more cars by end of race when the #44 Martin spun in turn 1 and collected our #9m at the wall. It was a end to a very Wild night but proved to see the Empire Racing Team moving forward in both classes.

It was very exciting to see your cars driving that well and very disappointing to see the damage too.

Great Job Donovan and Aaron! as well as the Crew! Brian, Mike, Darren, David, and Dalton.

Thank you to the Fans and Sponsors for support this year!

We had a great time seeing you at the tracks and thank you for your ongoing support. We made some big changes this season with Drivers and look forward to next year having Our new Driver (Donovan Peterson) in place for next season in the #9m Sprint Car. We were able to qualify with a top 3 finish this year in a Outlaw 410 race at Huset’s Speedway and race in the big $10,000 to win Final Night Race. The car qualified the best we had all year and we tried a new set up to take a chance to win it all , but it did not work out and missed out on the big money. Hope to see you all next year, and have a great off season!
